This poster series titled “I’m an Alien” tackles the term “Alien” and how I believe we are all able to relate to it on a certain level or scale. It was a term first assigned to me by the US government - I am a “legal alien” - nothing will make you feel like you are more of an outsider than that. By referencing the viewframe from the Powers of Ten video by Charles and Ray Eames, I am placing myself as an alien in three different scaled contexts: I am an Alien in my ethnicity, I am an Alien in a foreign country, and we are all Aliens in space.  Although these posters tackle the feeling of being alienated, the fact that the audience is able to relate to this, inverts the original intention of the suppressor who is doing the alienating.
